Guys.
I have a new project in the planning stage, as the title says. I am mechanically inclined and I am not at my first Fab work. This swap will look Factory.
I have decided to take a F150 10th gen for 2 reasons, because I like the look of them and there is a ton at an affordable price.
My goals:
- Mostly highway driving at 65-75 mph
- Reliable, Cheap on gas.
1- What would be the transmission and rear end that I should be looking at?
2- Should I go Standard or Auto? Advantages and disadvantages of both.
I know there are some 4x4 out there with 4BT's What were the challenges and can you point me in the right directions to read on them. I would like my swap not to be too much time consuming, meaning changing all the front end to fit a 4x4. If it can fit, by keeping the existing Chassis in its original configuration (mostly) that would be a plus.
3- Should I look for a 4wd or 2wd?
Send me some links, I will get the parts and the swap done within the next 2 months.
Thanks
Dayz
