I am new to the forum and have been doing a lot of looking around on here and it seems quite easy to make the swap, this is going to be my daily driver and im looking for the best mpgs, i am looking to put in the 4bt, nv4500,my questions are is a lift required for this? does the t-case have to be slid back? and what gear ratios are people using? are there any motor mount packages for this or is it a fab thing? any input would be greatly appreciated i plan on documenting the swap when i start
Body and susp lift help or modify oilpan. The further back you mount the motor the better and will lessen required lift. Fab the mounts where you want them. Gear it so your at 1800-2000rpms at cruising speed. use grimjeeper calc
In my jeep I have the nv4500 and 4:10 gears. I would recommend 3:54 gears myself. Thats what my pickup has with the 6bt and I personally like it a lot better than the 4:10's of the jeep.
