Yeah i think i would be happyer with the QSB then the 4BT. im currently in iraq and having someone back in washington do the swap for me. If i could find a good 4BT complete under 2500-3000 i might go that way but most ppl want alot for them. I know the toyota transmission can be beat to crap and still run. but im just kinda unsure on what other transmissions and T-case to get.. ive put alot of work into my truck already so spending a nice chunk of change for a new engine isisnt all that bad i payed about 4k for my front axle. I think the kewl factor of having a tacoma cummins setup would be awesome but i also want it to work and not break parts when i gas it.

    Sorry ,

Yes, I am using the Jeeps AX-15 and a flipped version of the Dana 300 (a CJ transfercase ) !! As I remember the ax-15 and toyota r151 share nose bolt patterns, which means you could use the same pieces from your transmission forward that I used ( bellhousing, and adapterplates ) !! I am not sure if the AX-15 is gonna have enough balls to handle the 360 lb. ft. of torque ( I think it is rated to 275 or 300 ) so I will go gentle until I can scrounge a Getrag 238 6-speed out of a V-8 Dodge Dakota or Ram !!

You realize what the price of a QSB 4.5L is right ???? I paid $4000 for mine, and that was a " bargain basement " " stole it price " !!! I posted a link to one on the Rock and Dirt website and they were asking $5000 for a QSB 4.5L !! Check the Cummins b3.3 and Variants forum of this site for the link !!!

    Hey Steed,

I don't see why the QSB 4.5L can't fit anyplace the 4bt would fit !! The block at the oil pan mounting surface is 14 inches at the widest point ( the A/C compressor adds 6 inches max to overall width ) and the flywheel housing is only 19.5 inches at widest point !! My '94 Jeep Wrangler frame rails ( where the oil pan needs to fit between ) is 28 3/4 inches wide !! A picture says 1000 words !! Here ya go !!
