Mini Truck

I want to make a mini truck diesel. I dont think it will have the room for a 4bt swap. Wanted to know what kind of diesel motor I can use for it. Im thinkin an s10 or a ranger for the build.

i did a mazda b2600 2wd with a mercedes 3.0L turbo diesel

I'm using that same engine in a Ford Courier (basically the previous Mazda body style). The earlier Mazda chassis has a front crossmember that looks like it was designed around this engine-

I have a 4bt in a 87 dakota and the truck handles the motor great and vice versa. Also if you look on youtube under 4bt you should find at least three ranger's that I know of with cummins. One of the three is a two wheel drive at the dragstrip, (good run i might add). at leased I was impressed. If you decide on the 4bt try for around 2.75 rear gears with overdrive and I think youll like it. my dakota longbed averaged 28 mpg over the 15,000 miles average driving without any long road trips. dont know what it will do on a long trip but on one tank that i had a few 30-65 mile trips along with town driving and i almost got 30mpg- around 700 miles on a 22 gal tank(thats what the owners manual calls it) that you can get a little more than 22 gallons in it .

a 4bt s10 would be cool, but a isuzu 4jb1 would be almost plug n' play...
