    Default muffler for 4bt?

I've got a 4bt in a scout and its sttraight piped with 3" exhaust, I think I need to install a muffler because it is so loud in that steel can and just echos inside terrible. I plan on rhino linning the interior to dampen some of that noise, but my question is what kind of muffler will work best? anyone using a muffler?what are you using? thanks

I plan on running a dynomax ultra flow for the 3" pipe on my wifes isuzu 4bd1t powered jeep grand cherokee. Straight thru design but should help muffle a bit, I know nexxusian used one on his NPR truck with similar diesel engine and liked it.

Any straight through design should work nicely. When I first did my swap, I hooked up my exhaust to my old 3 inch to a flowmaster super 44 muffler with dual 2.5 inch exits. I don't know if I got any vids or sound clips of it, but it sounded really cool. Then once I changed to a different turbo I went with 4 inch exhaust and straight pipe.

I don't know what level of "quietness" you are looking for but I am very happy with the stock muffler for a 6BT Dodge truck. It's a straight through desogn with 4" inlet and outlets. It's pretty quiet and available at most local part stores.

On the highway, the roar of the engine, tires and wind noises drown any possible exhaust noises

I used one of the Moroso 3" straight through mufflers, and it is real small in diameter and works in tight places!!!
