Paul (in NY) has done 4 conversions now, his work is to be envied. I'm working on one for my '46. M-series rebuild in NC specializes in that conversion type, and I know of one other shop that's done one for a client. It's one of the more popular engines for that type of truck. If they don't stick with the original flat-6 they usually do either a V-8 or the Cummins swap.
I've got the engine and trans adapter/flywheel. Still need the tranny and clutch assembly to finish it out. Then work on mounting it in the frame.
Many folks have done swaps into the M37, which is almost 100% the same, running-gear wise, as a flat-fender Power Wagon. Check out Cabell Garbee's AWESOME website for some good info and research: http://www.garbee.net/~cabell/
