Someone wanna give some input on the master cylinder and how its tilted.......the bracket its mounted to on teh frame is the one from the step van....is there any way to rotate it at all? (the step van 90 degree bracket seems to be a perfect fit right where it is... gotta love recycling.

Was it tilted like that in the original location? I dont know if it will hurt or not but I would rotate it a little, I think it would be easy to remove it from the frame and add some bracing to the bracket on the frame to make the mc level.

    Default Nut

I used a chisel (screwdriver) and a hammer to start it moving. Normally would not have done it that way but mine was already boogered up.

You might could jam something between the nut and the bracket and use it against itself in a vice by turning the hydroboost while clamping to the bracket. . .may mess up the bracket

Or hack on an old wrench or adjustable wrench to make it fit and get the nut loose enough to spin it off the rest of the way by hand.

BTW the solid works stuff looks great. I am trying to learn it on the side at work.

    The hydroboost nut..
The booster is keyed to the bracket, you can't turn the booster to remove the nut, you have to actually turn the nut relative to the booster and bracket. When you do reposition it (after removing the nut) you can simply file off the key in the bracket.

Someone sells a special socket that even has an offset drive to let the push rod pass through.. not sure where to get one.
I've used a piece of square tubing as a socket, pretty thin wall stuff, and an adjustable wrench to turn it. Measure the nut and find the right tubing.

`69 dodge polaras used screw in ball joints that are the same size as the hydroboost nut. I bought the socket that fits the balljoint at the local NAPA store, cut it in 1/2 and welded in a piece of black pipe long enough to clear the shaft of the hydroboost, and then you can use a breaker bar or impact wrench to remove the hydroboost nut and re-install it. as I think back, I think the dodges used 2 sizes of ball joints, the parts jockie should be able to find the socket that`s the same as the hydroboost nut. I suffer from C.R.S. syndrome.=( can`t remember shit) good luck on this endeavor, LOL!! I just went out to my shop and found the socket, it`s a NEW BRITAIN # NH-460

    Just more...... enjoy

Due note.... this is only round one of body work as I refuse to put any serious amount of time into paint/bodywork etc..... knowing that the entire cab, fenders, hood, etc etc etc will be off and on the chassis probably 30 times due to trouble shooting, failures, things I missed, maintenance, performance updgrades, tranny work, etc etc etc...... so I am not putting too much time into it but.... U get the idea.

Also.... some of the garage..... not bad for a 25 yr old I guess right?

I can't wait to see the bed!

This project along with the WC-53 are by far my favorites. Nice job guys, wish I had something "special" to put my 4bt in. Hopefully some day I will, then I can yank it out of the 88 crewcab and move on to greener pastures. After all the 4bt will most assuredly out live the 88 ford crewcab, especially with all the salt here in the winter.

Looks very nice. How much foot room does that leave you (with the new trans tunnel)?

    Thank you.

I asked as I have size 14 feet and toe board width was one of the reasons I went with a 31 Tudor Sedan as opposed to a 28/29 (that and it looks smoother without the cowl step).

Still wider than my Pop's Anglia though.
