Looked over trans tonight and I just can’t find anything wrong except a bad output sensor on tail housing. So I decided to do more wiring tonight. My autometer tach was never setup. I got a 3/4” magnetic flywheel pickup and hooked it up to a autometer 9112 tach adapter.

After finishing the tach wiring, I was leaning on my fender and can’t believe what I saw. I should have my CDL class A revoked. Always analyzing gauges while driving is key. I got so focused on that horrendous squelch while driving and the fact my speedometer decided to quit, I never looked at my boost gauge. I am so embarrassed, as I leaned on that fender and saw this

The intake boot clamp was off the boot. That horrendous squelch is a massive boost leak, like a kid let air out of a ballon. So I think my transmission is just fine, I find out this weekend when the sensor comes in.

Super HX30 has arrived. Found a T25 to T3 adapter that is only 3/4” thick. Should make an easy swap and have enough room. Start installing turbo this weekend.

Well got ambitious and it doesn’t fit. Need to fit a 4” intake tube. Need to get a new manifold.

New manifold and Super HX30. Almost fit. Need slight fender clearance and modify the waste gate actuator bracket. The waste gate actuator hit the oil filter housing barely.

Wastegate actuator bracket done, exhaust manifold wrapped, sheet metal massage, turbo drain line done, need a 4an to 12x1.5 orb fitting for oil line, order some exhaust tubing and 4” intake parts.

Been driving with the Super HX30, spools really quick. My max EGT have dropped and am unable to get over 1100 degrees F. EGT maintain usually 900 F. Need to start looking into fueling options next

Really good to here the turbo is working well as I have one sitting on my engine and was hoping it would work better or as well as the HX30 on my Dakota. Do you have injectors done? I went 33% oversize and it made a big difference but still no black smoke.

No injectors yet. I am trying to find time to schedule a dyno run and data log the info. After I get the logs, I plan to see what jr2185 can do with more tuning. What injectors did you use or did you just swap nozzles? What nozzles did you use if so. Maybe I’ll order some and swap them out.

I just did nozzels and they were the 5.9 60HP or 33% oversize. I cant find the invoice or I would give you the part #. They came from BD Diesel here in BC but I would think any of the suppliers/brands would be fine.

Truck never sold, so I’m going to start doing more to it. I have put 1500 more miles on it and it’s been fun. Thinking of compounds, maybe 12cm hx35 over the super hx30. We will see as I ponder, see what winter will bring.

Do you happen to have that part number? Or what year 5.9 injectors? 03-04 or 04.5-07?

I will email BD to see if they can tell me. The invoice does not specify, just says rebuild injectors.
Did you have to modify your WG mounting? I have my turbo orientated differently and the WG bracket does not clear the housing.

To make the super HX30 work I had to get a new exhaust manifold. Then I had to shorten the wastegate actuator bracket and angle it some. I cut the bracket and the actuator rod.

Thanks for the info Fxsu, I have not looked to see what I need to do yet but will get the turbo off on Monday and modify the bracket. I just pulled the whole actuator off when I started to clock the snail.

Looking into AC options for the truck. I am completely out of room for a compressor. Been researching and found best option will be to use a Prius electric compressor, can mount anywhere.
