Hi everyone! I am Michael Foxworthy and I live in Southern California. I have a 1973 K10 with a 350 and a TH350 tranny. The motor is old and tired. Plus I got 12 MPG downhill with a tailwind. I drive in Mexico a lot for Baja racing and I think a diesel swap would be the ticket.
So, I went on the hunt and found this site and all the cool tips everyone has. I have never done this but I am persistent and love a challenge. I bought the 4BT and a 700R4 tranny with a NP205 TC. I know, I know, DON'T USE A 700R4. I did read a lot and found that they can be used if setup properly. I think the key is the constant pressure valve body and a good linkage. If that all fails, I can always break down and go the 4L80E route. But for now, this is where I am. Here are a few pics of the beginning of this adventure.
I'll keep people updated on the progress.
Have a great evening!
