not really, hopefully at the end of the month the suspension should be done or close to.
I found out I have orders to Fairbanks Alaska in Nov. so I’m looking for parts to help the 4BT out in the winter. I ordered the power cable for my block heater and a 150watt immersion heater for the oil pan. I am also looking into new lights and lockers

Man, going from the hot sands of Arabia to the frozen tundra of Alaska. You're certainly getting your temperature extremes. Fairbanks probably won't be the greatest place for a diesel in winter. Gets a tad cold up there. I believe Cummins has had the oil pan heater since the 4bt was designed. Believe all the oil pans have the plug for it. Even uses the same power cord as the block heater. You're certainly going to need both. Going to need some super winterized fuel to keep it from gelling up there. Might have to throw a little jet fuel in the tank. Are you thinking about driving the truck up. Would be quite a shake down trip.

I didn't realize your truck is in Grand Junction. I would like to get a look at if possible.

Diesel fired coolant heaters are awesome in the winter!!! Look into either an Espar or Wabasto. I have installed tons of Espar's on 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks, they work awesome.

I am also planning on getting a 12volt heating pad and wrap it around my fuel and water seperator, the wrap it in some pipe insulation. I figure because its placed at the end of the bed all the water getting picked up by the tires might freeze on the filter and cause problems.

Right now my plan is to take the ferry from Seattle to Haines Alaska, the drive to from Haines to fairbanks is around 700 miles. The Army can still change my orders but im hoping they dont. Planing on alot of snowboarding and Ice diving once i get up there.

I like how the transmission shifter was moved back. How does the side to side movement feel?

I am still in Afghanistan, the guys at unorthodox customs said it hits all 5 gears and reverse real easy and it has a pretty short throw. From now until May the truck should really be coming together, ill keep posting pics of their progress. I should be back in the states sometime around the end of the summer. Once im back ill get a dyno of the stock setup then all the fuel upgrades as well as a dB meter before and after some sound deadening.

Suspension is coming along

The issue Unorthodox Customs is running into now is the front axle is pretty short. So the coil overs (PR2514-COHRS) are to big and to long to mount on top of the axle. There trying to figure out another way to mount them or i might have to find a smaller and shorter Coil over

Came home alittle early from Afghanistan so Ive been able to put some work into the truck while its ben in the shop.

Mounted the ARB compressor with the airdog fuel pump.

Tapped an NPT adapter so I can use the Toyota coolant temp sensor

Mounted my fuel and oil pressure sensor, the viewing location isnt the best. But it still looks pretty awesome

The truck is still coming along, here is a pic of its new stance. The coil over’s and hoops should be mounted in the next few days and it should be standing on its own soon.

Drivers side coil over hoop and tabs

Ran into issues with the power steering housing, ended up swapping the housing off a 2001 dodge cummins power steering pump. Gave me the second return line for the hydro booster.

The power steering gear ended up getting moved forward a little more. This placed part of the steering shaft to close to the power steering cap. Ended up modifying the reservoir.

Intercooler is fully installed

Ended up mounting my ARB compressor next to the fuel pump inside housing.

Modified a 1/2NPT adapter to accept the Toyota temp sensor, now my factory gauge works

Used a Dakota digital SGI-5 to configure my Speedo, using a 1992 dodge w350 Speedo sensor from autozone in my NP205. Since the truck isn’t moving yet I used a drill to spin the sensor, works great so far.

Another issue was my turbo drain tube was way too close to my frame, the new engine mounts reposition the engine a little bit. Came up with a new idea for the turbo drain.

Unorthodox customs are pretty awesome, since I’ve been back from Afghanistan they haven’t had a problem with me working on my truck in their shop. If anyone lives in Washington state, you should really check them out if you need anything made. They can come up with some pretty awesome ideas.

Drivers side shock hoop, couple crazy bends to make it fit. Both shocks and third legs are made from 1.5" 240 wall DOM

Passenger side hood, with the coil over and hoop the tire shouldn't be able to hit the VGT actuator
