thats gonna be a beast with that supercharger. :grinpimp:
yeah its going to be pretty awesome, should work out really well with this supercharger and my VGT.

I just started talking to Cobra Engineering, they make some custom adapters for this supercharger. With any luck i might be able to come up with a kit they can machine out and supply the site.

there current kit is $650, and these superchargers with low miles go for $500 and less on ebay. so hopefully for $1200 well be able to supercharger our 4BTs.

here's my idea of the adapter, it will be boxed in from the top adapter to the CAC intake. It will bolt into the top of the valve cover and to the extra bolt holes on the head for extra stability.

Who was the eBay seller that you purchased that s/c from
Its a crazy good deal
from what i read these go pretty cheap because they dont bolt to anything without alot of custom fab. Seems like i jumped the gun with mine there some on ebay for 200 - 350. all the ones ive seen online have low miles because most of them upgrade to bigger chargers. these chargers are 2 leter chargers, thats alot of air to be pushing into our engines. Im hoping to tune mine so i have 5 PSI at idle and get my turbo to max out at around 30 PSI

Pulled the head off, heres some pics of the inside

New injectors are pretty fouled up, this one was in the first cylinder. the others didn't look like this one, the others just had carbon build up.

Gasket came right off, some parts of it seemed like it was falling apart

Pistons looked good just dirty, you can still see the honing in the walls. Makes me wonder how many miles is on this engine.

finely got my M122 supercharger in, here's a picture of the charger next to the head gasket, this thing is huge!!!!

I got all my gaskets to put my engine back together, I'm just waiting to get my head back from H&H diesel. I'm having them machine the pedestals down, install the 60lbs valve springs and valve seals. Once i get it back ill be installing head studs, hopefully all this livens up my motor.

I am currently in the parts collection stage of a 4BD1T/NV4500HD swap (I actually have all the parts except for a decent turbo manifold) into a 2wd S10. Since these engines are very comparable, I was curious how you view the HE351VE on your 4BT. I bought a HE351VE for dirt cheap a couple years back and was planning on using it with the fleece controller. Since my application wouldn't need a ridiculous amounts of off-idle torque seeing as how my truck will end up in the ~3500lb range, I was going to go for a bit more horsepower than most, highlighting speed mostly. a rough, realistic goal of 250hp is where I am shooting for, maybe more down the line. All insight would be appreciated.

Excellent build by the way. I found you on youtube first and had to find your build thread because of the turbo choice on a 3.9. Great job.

my turbo is an upgraded HE351ve, its a 62/70 instead of the stock 60/70. The turbo is fun to drive but it has a huge lag, i can make 40+ psi pretty easy but its not reliable. Its more or less look at me, flooring it in 3rd and 4th. if you had twins or something to light up at lower RPM it would most likely be good. but i think its causing more issues then anything else for me.

I'm actually thinking about selling my turbo and controller for something else lol

Slowly making progress with my M122 supercharger, the supercharger is going to be bolted to 1/2" aluminum plate, then the brackets for the engine are going to be made out of 1/4" steel with slots so i can move the charger back and fourth to a line to the pulley.

That's just ridiculous :grinpimp:
LMAO i think most people think that when i drive by, this supercharger sticking out of the hood would just top it off.

So i talked to Turbo Technologies in Tacoma Wa. Turns out they worked on some GT500s with these and they claimed it can make upwards of 20+ PSI with the right pulleys. here's to hoping lol

ha ha that's awesome!

just get the sawzall out and make room in that hood!

what are the two ports on the driverside of the supercharger for? is it liquid cooled?

Will be like a 60's muscle car with a GMC blower sticking out of the hood. Your idea about changing the turbo probably would be good. Go with something less complex like an HX35W or possibly an HX40W. Probably won't need the waste gate. Those turbos alone might be a bit laggy but since you'll have a blower up front that becomes no problem. With the right fueling you'd just touch the accelerator and it's gone. Hope she's got a good clutch.

Its the vacuum ports, there's a total of three on the supercharger and another 2 or 3 on the elbow. I'm going to pull them out and tap them for a plug.

The GT500's have a water to air intercooler under the supercharger

might not look all that cool but its still going to be pretty awesome. the charger is going to be upside down so all your going to see in the hood is a plate and the charge pipping coming out of it.

That is really nice build you have there Steed. Did you have it running with the supper charge yet. How it performs?
Not yet, I have a machine shop machine shop making my engine adapters and cobra enginnering is making my adapter plate for the charger. It won't be for another two weeks before I get everything from them. I told both companys to keep templetes incase anyone else wanted to cop my setup.

The adapter for the supercharger is going to cost 255, and its made out of 1/allumium plate. The engine adapters are going to be made out of 1/4 steel plate not sure on the cost. Once I have it running ill have an idea on what the boost is going too look like. Jon bond performance might getnthe snout to make a custom pulley for the charger, I have a 2.6 pulley but I'm thinking I might want a 1.8 pulley and a custom crank pulley.

Thanks Steed,
Did you change the title to diesel yet? I am in process of swapping a 4bt into my 2008 Wrangler JKU. I live in Denver Metro area with emission test required. I would like to know if you have any problem registering your truck with diesel. Thanks a gain.
