Hey, just new to this forum. I have had one of these which has been stored in my barn for a decade, the owner has long gone. It's a ex prison van (!) which was last used in a movie apparantly. Are they worth anything as a diesel? or shall I just give it to the scrappers. Cheers..I'm in NW auckland (NZ) by the way. If its a decent diesel then I'd prefer someone to use the engine who needs it. I need to clear the space.

It's a smaller version of the 4BD1T, mainly no turbo and shorter stroke. Same block externally so everything fits the same. They run sweeter than the bigger motors and rev a little higher I think, but no tacho on the one I drive so I can't be too sure.

They're still fetching okay money on trademe if they're still road legal.

Isuzu 4BC2s are popular here in the philippines.. They were known for reliability and power than any same-class diesels..
They pull and rev a lot, making them popular.. =)
4BC2s are good. although i wanted to know whether it is possible to use a 4BA1 crankshaft in a 4BC2 engine
