I rebuilt my 4BD1T about 2 years ago but didn't have the time to do it all nicely.
So now I'm exerting the elbow grease I should have done then.

It all started with the head showing surface rust, the acid wash when the valve guides where replaced removed the oil anti-rust coating.
Then I got carried away.:grinpimp:

Ummm-mmm, looking mighty fine! Wish I could have done more trick detailing on mine, but no time during swap. Hey, there's at least 2 kinds of acid wash, and one is to increase runner volumes in the head. Did you acid port it!??!

The acid wash was simply a cleanup which the head reconditioner did when he put in new valve guides.
I'm not bothering with any form of porting, the intake ports are already big enough and the match looks good. Removing material on a head I plan to pump 30psi into isn't a wise idea IMO.

Gotta get back into it today, procrastination is a hobby of mine.:D
