Does anyone know if the fuel pressure relief valve on the back of the 4bd1t injection pump is always to leak fuel even if fuel pressure is down? I have a hose attached to the banjo fitting so i can just loosen the clamp and take the hose off see if fuel is coming out. My airdog fuel pump has adjustable pressure screw and it doesn't matter how low of pressure i put it it still lets fuel by.When i set the fuel pressure to like 25 the engine starts to miss. I think its returning to much fuel out that relief valve. After reading p7100 injection pump articles could i put a torkteck overflow valve in to try? Just maybe that is my white smoke issue i never got rid of...

Usually there is fuel return to cool the pump and to remove air. don't see why you couldn't put one of the torkteck valves on it. you might check with a couple of fuel injection shops to see if they could tell you the spec on what the pressure is supposed to be inside the pump.
