hey guys im new to this site so bare with me ha,ok so i bought a 1992 4bt on ebay for a jeep yj swap,ive heard that if you take every thing from a 5.9 12 valve as in adapter,fly wheel,clutch,slave,bell housing,nv4500 that it will all bolt up to the 4bt is this true,and if so what year 12 valve do i need to look for.another thing ive been wanting to do is use my stock t-case np231.what is the best way to adapte the np231 to the nv4500 thanks

Easiest way is to get a 241 from the Dodge that you get the 4500 from. Even 241DLD's have bigger chains than the 231 as well as 6 pinion planetaries (231's have 3 pinions). Since the 231 from your YJ is an early model you cannot swap a 29 spline input shaft into it. The ONLY option would be to run a 4wd GM 32 spline mainshaft in the 4500 and swap an early 32 spline 241 input into your 231. This will cost more than simply getting a 29 spline 241 from a Dodge donor.
