After reading posts here and other places, you just can't swap this engine in a Tacoma unless you beef up the frame and axles (dana 60 etc). Would anyone even recommended going through that much trouble for a rockcrawler?

When doing a SAS on nearly ANY Toy it is advisable to plate the frame on the outside of the rails. This also helps on the install of a steering box. doing the same to the inside of the rails while fabbing the new motor mounts. I keep hearing /reading about frame issues behind the cab though too. Because of all of the crap that needed changing on my Toy I just started with a 2wd. So NO it is no too much work for a rock crawler!

The 4BTA in my '94 Landcruiser gets about 19-21 with the pump turned down, and depending on how much I get on it;)

Running a 700R4 with a Fj62 transfer case, 4:11 gears and 35s, cruises in OD with about 5psi boost.
