I'm looking for some info on military 6V-53T's. Specifically horsepower, torque and fuel consumption graphs. I'm looking at two models in particular but all are welcome. The first is model #5063-539F and is rated at 300HP and 562 lbs/ft torque at 2800 rpm. The second model is #5063-5492 rated at 350HP with 656 lbs/ft torque at 2800 rpm. Anyone have complete graphs not just 2800 rpm specs?

Jim, what is your intended application, graphs and published ratings have applications other than the real world. What truck, what trans, what typical loads, how often, mainly mountains or flatland driving; I recall there are some small hills in NY.

Ed,
I was looking for the usual Detroit Diesel HP, torque and fuel consumption graphs for the 300 and the 350 HP applications. More specifically the peak torque and at what rpm. Perhaps a specific model number is not needed. My intended application is for a tow/haul mule and converting it to twin turbo with more "streetable" turbo characteristics. I'm looking at buying one or the other and was wondering if there was a significant difference in torque between the two. My guess is that there is probably about 75-100 lb/ft of torque difference between the two.

Jim,
Green series turbos usually put out max torque at 1800, while silver series made max torque at 1500. In military trim, I would expect them to be silver, depending on the year they were built. Smaller twin turbos might make max torque at even lower RPM. Current military 6V53T's are 400 hp @ 2800, but I have not heard the torque rating. They are electronically controlled, though.

Both engines are Silver but one ( 350hp) has a double bypass blower while the other (300hp) has no bypass at all. I agree that the Silver engines would have a peak torque at lower rpm. What is that number though?

A 350 horse military engine is rated at 2800 RPMs (there is one on Ebay right now with the valve cover info shown)
If you have 350 HP at 2800 then 350 X 5252 / 2800 = 656.5 Torque. HP is a calculation based on torque at speed. ( HP= torque X speed / 5252 )
By reversing the formula, Torque = HP X 5252 divided by speed. This doesn't give you torque at lower speed, but gives you max torque.

Steve,
Did the math already . Just looking for the peak torque and at what rpm. Thanks for the help though.
