hey i have an 86 chev p/u and a 2001 dodge one ton that has been rolled but all the enging and drivetrain is good in it. i want to do the diesel swap in to my chev but not sure where to start i know people have done it quite cleanly but just never started a project like this before is there kits for engine mounts and such? should i use chev or dodge axles? what do i do about an engine management system? can someone point me in the right direction

How good are your fab skills? Get wiring diagram of both dodge and chevy.

Figuring out what is 100% needed to run the dodge power train and install it into the Chevy. This means pulling an uncut wiring harness from the dodge then integrating it into the Chevy so the ecu and tcu never knows if left the dodge.

You can use the dodge rear axle if width is ok. May need to mod drive shaft legnth

Will probably need to beef the Chevy suspension for the added weight.

Graph dodge gauge cluster and possibly ignition switch into the Chevy

Or you can turn the engine to stand alone ecu but would cost more.

There are several ways to do this depending on your skills, budget and time.
