There seems to be a rash of scams going on out there in the real world with sellers passing off Cummins B Series engines that have bad BOSCH VE injection pumps or pumps that are pretty well shot as being good running engines. I would highly recommend that you test the output quantity stream BEFORE you fork over the money for an engine that will end up needing a costly injection pump rebuilt normally in the $500-800 range.
This video shows a normal stream exiting the injection pump while cranking the engine with a weak battery. The output at the injector line with the line disconnected should exert enough pressure to cause the line to rise slightly from the injector body. Pay a particular amount of attention to both the quantity of the stream and the distance it travels.
Remember to have a good quality fuel source connected BEFORE you do this test.
