I’m trying to adapt a dodge diesel NV4500 to a Dana 300 does any one know if it will just bolt up or will I need an adapter? I know that there are adapters made for the GM nv4500 to Dana 300 but the GM is a different spline count than the dodge one I have.

If your NV4500 is a 23 spline gasser trans

It will bolt up. The circle pattern is common . Now if you wish to clock the 300 you will need a 1/4 adapter.

Dodge NV4500 spline count

Diesel - 29 spline and a larger shaft than the chev 32 spline

Gassers 23 spline but that changed to 29 on the later gasser trans

Dodge V6 way early 90s came with a oddball out put shaft 21 or 27 this was in 90 to 93 or thereabouts - real rare.

if it is a gasser nv4500, then the 23 spline will match and the d300 will bolt up. If you ise a d300 diesel, you will need to change the input shaft of the tcase.

I ran a gmnv4500 and had to switch the input shaft on my dana 300. No big deal. You will need a press to get bearings on and off. Other than that, take a few hours and presto!
