I’m about to do a swap on my 98 dodge 1500 2wd truck due to the scarcity of 4bt‘s I’ll be using an allis Chalmers 433TI coupled with a 4L80E trans and stand alone computer (quick 4). I want to use as much of the stock components as possible including the instrument cluster. What are some ideas to get a functioning speedometer? My understanding of the dodge speedometer is that it requires a cam and crank signal correct me if I’m wrong.
The speed sensor for that truck is on the rear axle, not the engine. You will probably need power to the computer that feeds the instrument cluster. Not sure if that computer needs other signals for the speedometer to work. Here's a video about the sensor but not sure what else you will need to make it function.
