If you have a Getrag model G360 found behind the Dodge Cummins from 1989 - 1993 which has the 29 spline output shaft then the transfer case found in the newer 1994 Dodge Cummins (NP-241HD ??) LH drop is a direct bolt on application. In a reverse situation my NP-205 that originally came with a G360 was a direct bolt on to the rear of the NV-4500 transmission. No spacers or adapters were required & I used the factory 29 spline coupler.Does anyone know what driveside drop tcase you could put behind a getrag 5speed trans?
It currently has the 205, will a ford 205 work, or maybe a tcase from a '94 - up nv4500?
You swap over the transfercase input shaft and you need an adapter . Your old 205 most likely has a figure 8 pattern . The ford 205 has either a figure 8 pattern or the round style . If it has the round style you need the adapter . It is about 1/4 to 3/8 thick.
