I hope to put a 4BT in my 98 Durango.
I want to keep the 44re for convenience. I will need to build the 44re to handle the low end torque, which can be done.
So I need to find someone with a conversion plate. I have the adapter/belhousing that Dodge uses for the 6bt Cummins but it is too large for the small block trans.
And of course I have the 4Bt with the inline pump.
Any one with advice?

Thanks, but I've read that thread and most of them here.
He is using the 47re adapter and bellhousing.
I need a way to go with the small block trans.
As I understand it, there is a small block case---42re,44re, 46re.
Then there is a 47re, which is the Diesel/v-10 case.
But to my knowledge, there is not an adapter to mate the small block trans to the Cummins.
Who knows anything about the first gen Dodge/Cummins installs?
Is that bellhousing the same as a 44re/46re? Some say it is the same as currently used.
