The ZF S5-42 2WD transmission in the 1997 Ford F-450 looks alot like the 4WD version with a parking brake assembly bolted to the rear of the case. Can this transmission be used in a 4WD application with a BW1356 transfercase if the parking brake assembly is removed?

Thanks,
Mike

And if the parking brake unit is good, sell it (on ebay) for some extra coin.

Some people burn up the bearings in those parking brakes, because they don't realize it has fluid sepearate from the transmission.
