Keeping your tank full is probably the best thing to do especially if your vehicle sets outside and is subject to temperature swings that pass through the "dew point" in the air. Diesel fuel attracts water from the air when being subjected to dew point temperatures and high humidity.
I personally have been using "Stanadyne Performance Formula" http://www.dieselpage.com/add1.htm for a number of years in everything I own and without any problems. My John Deere highlift normally sets from October through April of each year and I have not had any problems with condensation or bacteria growth.
