I am in the process of putting a 4l80e with the compushift kit into my 77 gmc with a 4 bt. I am having problems deciding where and how to mount the TPS switch . Mine is the linkage type not the cable set up. Any advice would be much appreciated. I am hoping to have everything back together in a week or so.

I'm looking at doing the same combo, and what I'm planning is to copy what Dodge did on the trucks with VE pump and the 47RE. Those have a bracket that mounts the TPS right over the throttle shaft of the pump, and has plastic adapter that goes in the hex socket at the top and has a flat blade at the other end to direct drive the TPS. No linkage, should be durable.

The factory Dodge location does not look bad but I don't know if it will clear my a/c bracket. My compressor sits right above the pump. I will have to check and see. I will be setting it up within the next week or so and I will try and post some pictures of how it turns out. I may have to mount the switch in front of the gear housing.
