I just acquired a Bendix compressor Eaton PS pump combination for my project. The pump is a BB series that flows at 5 gallons a minute with a max pressure of about 2100psi. My question is can the pump be rebuilt with lower flow and pressure to mate to a Saginaw 700 series box that has a max flow of 3.5 gallons a minute and 1200psi? Or is there another pump that would mate to back of a Bendix BX-2150 compressor that would work?

Thanks

There is a offroad competion car near where I live that was busting the steering box seals with too much pressure from the pump and they simpy put a pressure relief valve PRV before the steering box that was set to release before the seals blew (obviously) and it I think it was then teed into the return. They have had no more problems since.

There should be a pressure relief valve in the pump somewhere. If not, follow Gazza's advice and put on inline.
