From discussions on the Dodge first gen Cummins forums (DTR for one) the general consensus is you should avoid using injectors designed for use with the P series pump on engines equipped with the VE pump due to the higher pop off pressures required. The increased pressure causes premature pump failure caused by the increased pressure on the pump head and rotor. Personally I would stick to the ones offered for the 89 - 93 Dodge Cummins engine.
