Hey gang,
Need a little help here. Most of the KDP kit I've seen on the mrket are for dowels that have a flat area that the tab can cover. Well looking at mines, it aint that. There's like side walls, or a hole it sits in and the bolt is on the flat surface. Would this mean I'd have to make my own or modify one, or do you know of someone that make one for this particular style. Bette yet, if your is similar what did you do?

Blessings,
Ron

Just cut a piece of copper or Alu as they are soft and can be shaped to fit the area to be filled. You are only preventing a pin from sliding/walking out, no real pressure is applied to the dowel as it sits in place. A piece of pine would work in theory.

Like the guys say, this isn't rocket science. You could take a lid off a tin can and cut it to shape, put a few bends and a hole and you have all that is needed. Remember to clean out the bolt hole and reinstall the bolt with some blue Loctite. Need to do that with all the other bolts behind the front cover. Those sometimes work loose and they can be as bad or worse than that little dowel pin.

Thanks guys. Yeah I do have a problem over thinking things. Don't want something so small grenading the engine. 😅I went with a diesel injection kit, it also came with a new seal and gasket set.

Hey Char, so should I take off the gears and take the bolts that hold that cover to the front of the block off and clean them and re-loctite them?
