Shouldn't you be using a boat instead of a truck?
That wouldn't be as much fun!Shouldn't you be using a boat instead of a truck?
Yes, it will bolt up to the 87-88's.I've got a 1987 mazda b2600 4x4 I've been wanting to do a diesel swap on, sounds like it should bolt right up ? I have the mitsubishi 2.6L gasser with manuel tranny, any suggestions on where to find an engine ? Any other tips are appreciated !
P.S. sorry I'm new to the forum I posted before I found the 2nd and third pages, I see the links posted, thanks !
Actually the Mazda didn't become a Ranger until 94. The 93 and early Mazda's are completely different. However the 4D55 is very similar to the 4D56 but and would fit but finding one that would need a complete rebuild would be very difficult. You could completely rebuild one but that would cost almost as much as a new crate 4D56.Since the Ford Ranger (same thing) came with the 4D55t stock in the 1980s at the time did you give that engine a thought?
Nice looking truck!Hey cdalejef,
Love the thread. How did you get your rpm gauge working? Also did you install a glow plug controller or did you set something else up? You've got me sold on doing this to the little B2600i i picked up from sumerset, ky last week with a bad motor. The only thing I'm stuck on is what engine a low mileage jap import or a new crate engine.
This is an indirect injection motor, no ECU. It only needs one 12v switched wire to run.I may have missed this part but what did u do for ecu also love the swap I plan to do this asap I have a 93 2600i with a tired motor but not sure about wiring and ecu stuff did u have to go standalone or ?
