I'm getting ready to start a diesel swap into my low mileage near mint condition 89 Mazda B2600i 4x4. The motor has been ordered and should be here in 2-3 weeks.

Mitsubishi 4D56T 2.5L diesel with water cooled turbo...

To go into this...

My Mazda to Toyota solid axle swap is basically finished. I'll have to get some new springs as these used ones are pretty tired. I'll be going to a little larger tire before this winter.
Huge thanks to my friend John Rowling at Rowlin's Garage and Fabrication in LaGrange for all of the help with this project, there's no way I could have done it without him!

I added a couple more leaves to the front packs to take care of the negative arch and add 3" blocks to the rear to level it out. I'll eventually replace the front and rear leaf springs with Old Man Emu.

Looks sharp. How does it drive and how does it flex now? Any issues with front axle tramp?

. Thanks! It drives great, I haven’t been anywhere to flex it yet but I can tell just by putting a jack under one side of the axle that it’s far better than stock.
Axle tramp?

I've replaced the front springs with OME's and added some extended shackles to the rear.

I made some rock rails....

Swapped 4.90 R&P from a Montero Sport into my Montero locked rear axle...

Wondering who you bought the motor from.

These guys?

I haven't been to their website in years and that one looks different but I'm sure that's them.
Thanks.

I love how it looks now I’ve been thinking about swapping mine. I have a 87 b2600 se5 but was it mainly just bolt on and what about a wiring harness like for your gauges snd stuff where did you get it from?

It's basically a bolt in. The aftermarket gauges don't need a harness, it's simple wiring.
I'm so glad you're still responding 13+ years latter.... Would you consider (or maybe already have done it) having a mini series on YouTube detailing this engine swap? I would love to do this one day. And secondly, how do you go about smog and keeping the emissions in check to pass and get your stickers every 2 years? (I'm not sure if I know where you're from but believe you're in California?)
Thanks

Man, I've forgotten a lot of what I did during this swap it was so long ago. It wouldn't make for a good video. LOL

We don't have any kind of vehicle testing here in Kentucky.
