I was shopping for input and output shaft seals for My sm465 and it shows Timken 9613S for the muncie and national 481181N. Mine is a 87 gmc with the sm465 does it share this parts with the muncie? The seals look different but I don't know which one I should get basically.

Thank You.

The sm465 is a Muncie. Whether it has the same seals as the more famous m22 I don't know.

Clean your seal with a good degreaser BEFORE you remove it. The seal number will be usually found on the metal outside portion of the seal.

I'm about to order the input and output seals and would like to know which one I have to make sure I get the right one, The ones I have don't leak much but I will be pulling the transmission when I get the overdrive unit and don't want to pass on the opportunity. Besides when I pull the tranny I can't drive so it is better for Me to have most parts before I start the project.

Thank You.
