Hey guy my brother has a 6bt out of a 1997 3500 12 valve. We got to looking at it and #6 exhaust valve is not working. Any ideas? bad tappet lifter or cams gone!?!? Need to get this on the road soon!!

What like valve not moving or not moving the push rod? Bent valve, cam lobe gone, bent push rod, or broken lifter.

It not moving the push rod. We pull the rod and its straight as a arrow

All other rods are moving correct? Did this just happen or was this after assembly?

Pull the cam and check it. Either broke or wiped the lobe out.

Damn thats what we thought. Any good place to find a cam at reasonable price? I dont think the tappet lift can just stop working right? As they have no moving parts.

Hamilton or other custom grind fo sure saves fuel with more power..

If the flat of the tappet broke off then it could limit movement. Enough to keep the actual valve from opening but would still see movement
