just recently became interested in swapping a 4bt into my 72 scout . was wondering what year 4bt would be less of a hassel as far as electronics, and if they make adapters for my t18 or 727 tranny? thanks

There is no electronics on a 4BT/4BTA. Put 12 volts to the fuel solenoid valve, wire the starter and listen to her rumrumrumrum.

Cant help on your Adapter question, I use NV-4500's

If you want to use a Dodge 727 from behind a 6BT then all you have to do is find a 6BT plate from a member here or a yard. As far as I have seen I don't think the 4BT came with a Dodge plate.

If you want to use a Ford T19 or a ZF 5-speed from a 1/2 ton 90-on, then buy one with the Ford tranny behind it. I have one that came with the van I bought. As I have read on this site it has the same bolt pattern as a T18.
