Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and not very good with a computer so please bear with me.
I have a 1993 NPR 4bd2t with auto trans and would like to swap it into a 2002 Chevy 3500 Van.
I think the van has a 3.73 ratio rear axle. Does this sound like a good combo? What kind of fuel mileage, performance and towing capacity should I be able to achieve? I welcome any advice how to proceed with this project.

Thanks for the reply, Have you done a diesel swap? If so, what kind of truck did you use?

I have done a couple of swaps into one ton vans, albeit Fords. Both had 3.73 gears, one with o.d and one w/o. I get around 30 mpg. I think if you plan on a lot of towing you might be happier with 4.11 gears.

Anyone know if the 1993 NPR automatic transmission will shift properly when you mate it to a 3.37 ratio rear end?
Will the controller have to be flashed and re-programed?

i didn't swap diesels into chevy trucks, but there were some versions of the silverado and the 3500hd with 4cyl diesels for south-american markets...
