hi, wondering if a nv3500 will work behind a 4bt cummins, with 5.9 bellousing and flywheel

I'll say yes cuz I did it. After 2 years of abuse I took it out for a rough input bearing. It always ran hot but held up good. I had high power and pulled loads but I wouldn't recommend doing that. Trans temps were well over 260* cruisin with a load. If you don't plan on pullin trailer or anything long distance I'd say go for it.

The 3500 probably won't break, but they are not known to be a very reliable tranny. They all eat input bearings and they're a major PITA to work on. Not to mention they run on special GM fluid.

thanks, i've decided to go with a zf cause i got a deal on an ford adapter, but that's good to know

I have 13K on my swap with my nv3500 behind a 4bt .. so far so good and the trans had 90K to start with!

I assume this is a GM NV3500 and not a Dodge. I think it has an integrated bell so the dodge would not bolt up.
