I bought a new NV4500 5 speed transmission and have a question about the vent port on it. It came with a cap on it when I got it and it looks like it's made to have some kind of tubing put on it's end. Does this tube need to go somewhere special? Can I or should I just leave the port capped?

Thanks! :dustin:

You can leave it untubed but then it may have some slight overflow.. I would put a tube on it and route it somewhere slightly higher, with flow back into it when it does need to vent and let some oil out..

If planning on any deep water crossings tube it high and put small breather(Jegs) filter to keep crap out.
