I just recieved my power steering pump/ mount and gear. All looks good but there seems to be no bolt to hold the gear on, right in the center of the gear looks like it would go into the pump shaft..... Anybody know? Thanks in advance guys! -wingnut13

If I am remembering correctly, a bolt does not hold the shaft into the gear. It is a compression fitting. I have seen someone heat up the gear to get the shaft in. Then when the gear cool, it shrinks clinching down. It installs similar to a pulley that is pressed on.

it is pressed on or can be heat/shrunk on as well. It requires a puller to remove...

I don't want to pull it apart....... yet. I was just wondering if there should be a bolt to hold on the gear. I really wouldn't want it to fall off under load. That would be bad bad bad. I'm having issues with my PC and cannot currently upload a picture. I'll see if I can resolve that. -wingnut13
