My turbo is not gonna clear the big oil filter on the 4D55 in my ranger. I was wondering if there was a way to do a filter relocation, or if I could plug the filter plate, and just put a filter housing on the firewall with a filter in series with the oil cooler lines... Anyone done this? Any Ideas? My filter factory is a NAPA Gold 1067, if that helps.

I got tired of dealing with the rare and expensive stock filters. Using a stock filter for the base, I (or my mechanic - more accurately) built an adapter to use a basic chevy oil filter. Don't recall which filter off hand but same as was used in some corvettes so plenty of oil flow. Once you have an adapter, you could use an off the shelf relocator kit or even make your adapter serve as the base for a kit. My chevy filter is much smaller and much cheaper.
Hope that helps
