Ok I’m sure missed this somewhere but I have an Eaton fs5205 trans and would like to swap it for an rto6610. Does anyone know if there the same size bellhousing?
Thankyou Jake
Jake, some of those heavy duty transmission came with various size bellhousings. Mostly SAE2 or SAE3. Some transmission models were only available with one size. Just a matter of measuring the diameter of the housing and bolt spacing to see what you need, According to Eaton specs, the FS5205 was only offered in SAE2. Here are the specs. https://www.eaton.com/ecm/groups/pu...fications: Speeds: 5 forward,,46%; left - 44%. From what I've been able to find, The RTO 6610 didn't come with a housing smaller than SAE2 so SAE3 shouldn't be in the picture. That transmission may have been available in SAE1.
I found a spec sheet on the RTO6610 and it only came in SAE1 or SAE2. Housing materials were offered only in iron but there were 4 different types of clutch operating systems.
