Okay, got my 1974 chevy bread van with the 4bt/400turbo. I was going
to just swap the motor and adapter into my 1977 one ton crew cab 4WD
that has an existing 400turbo. But now am thinking about retrofitting
a 4spd stick/transfer case and putting a brownie auxillary tranny
behind that so that i can under/direct/overdrive in any gear when I am
in 2WD mode.
Questions:
do the toadstool motormounts cross over or do i just bolt up to the
existing motormounts in the 4WD?
Can I use the same starter that comes with the auto when i go to
manual?
Does the flywheel just bolt on in place of the flexplate?
I have done plenty of inline 6 to v8 swaps and auto to manual swaps,
in chevys so I am fairly familiar with the swap process but haven't
done one of these. Am I expecting it to be too simple?
Thanks in advance. Warmest regards.
