Two minor problems: The harness pictured has ends in it for a Gen 3 (5 speed) TCM, not a Gen 4. A Gen 3 computer, even one modified for 6 speed use like the one Destroked sells in their conversion kit, will NOT work with a Gen 4 valve body. Second, the "Item Description" box lists the condition as "new", whereas the harness shown is clearly a used, reworked stock harness. He also says nothing about a TCM to use with this harness.

So, one of three possibilities: 1) He is actually selling newly made Gen 4 stand-alone harnesses, but put up a pic of a used, reworked Gen 3 harness. He also says nothing about how you give this thing throttle inputs....

2) He's a moron who doesn't know what he's selling (but it says "10 available").

3) He's a liar.

Heck, for $500 (maybe - parts have gone up) I could build you a brand spanky new harness with brand spanky new connectors, terminals, and Tefzel-insulated tin-plated wire, ready to plug in a reprogrammed 8.1 TCM and Cat TPS. I know this because I already built a pair :D So, charging premo prices for a reworked used Gen 3 harness is pretty shady, which makes me lean toward #3 above...
Max, kinda figured it was #3, with yourself and others working on this I figured if it was that easy you (or someone else on here) would have already done it.;)

That and, it's flea bay and that's my default belief with them. :D

I sent this guy a few messages with questions about his product, and he was never really able to answer them (and they consisted of strange combinations of cApITaLiZatIonS throughout the reply), and always responded with 'I don't know what that is.' He insisted all I need is his harness, his Programed TCM, and his TPS, which I could have for a lump sum of $1375.
- needless to say a little over the top.

He also didn't know about tow/haul, tap to shift, TCM model, or if it was tunable.

So I'm going with both (2) and (3) for the above.

Sounds like a scam.I had a freind ask some ? also never got a repley yet.
i have been busy makeing AC brackets and some other things.on the old Ford hope I can get some help this week end to put the front clip back on.and take her for a test drive. My leak on the trany plug is very small something I can put up with for a while till I get some money saved for a new wireing harnes for the inside of the trany. The wife don't want me to take it out of the garage till the AC is done.I can't wait that long anylonger.
I just want to say Thanks for all the great info on this thread. and to Max for all his R&D.

I haven't driven her yet on the street have been very bussy this week.I just have to put the front clip back on and move some things in front of the garage and take a ride and see how she will shift every thing is all hooked up and ready to go for a tst run.

Keep us posted. I wish Max could give me a call. I have a few questions.

Sent while gathering Allison parts.

Not sure on that

29 Green Instrument Panel Check Trans "Check Trans" Malfunction indicator lamp output.

Is this a 12+ that can be hooked up to a led or is it a communication wire that tells the cluster to turn the light on?
It's an open drain output. In essence, it is a switch that closes and grounds the pin when active. Typical hookup would be a a 12V lamp or ballasted LED connected to ignition power on one side and the pin on the other.

Cool so I can give 12 volts to one side of an led and if the tcm throws a code it will give that pin ground which will light up the led. Right?

Yup. Make sure you're using a 12V LED, i.e. an LED with a built-in current limiting resistor. The LED will light when you first turn on the key, but should go out after a few seconds. That will let you know it's working.

If you're using a medium duty TCM you can probably just connect the CAN bus and it will probably work (never been verified if this is the case with a Dodge 6.7 ECM though...). If you want to use a GM TCM to get all the features you will have to hook up a slave TPS to the pedal.

Been following the thread for a while. First time to post though on site. Sad to see that you are selling everything. I'm in the process of finding parts to put a p-pump 4bt and Allison 5 speed in a 87 Chevy pickup.

Wondered if you will still offer advice even though you won't be doing yours now? Also wondered what you would charge to build a wiring harness and program a tcm for me. Is there anyway you could pm me and give me your number would like to pick your brain a little about your build seeing it is very close to what I am in the process of doing.

I know you hear this all the time but wanted to thank you personally for the info that you have supplied to this and hope that things turn around for you to still be able to do your project.

In the works:
1987 Chevy 1/2 ton that will have 1 ton drivetrain, 4bt cummins (with some tuning to hopefully get 250-350hp) with a built Allison 1000 5 speed transmission
