Clevite Bearing Part Numbers:

These are all STD size part numbers.

Rod Bearings CB-1095P
Is this part number for a set of each rod?

Great job by the way, always been really happy with Clevite stuff.

What about complete cylinder kits for 4BD1T?
This pic was taken from the parts manual.

Note the last 3 kits are for the 'T' engine
587810-4232 for 4BD1TPV, or 4BD1TPW
587810-2813 for 4BD1TABF, or 4BD1TABE
587810-5551 for 4BD1TRBG, 4BD1TAB101, or 4BD1TRE

Note also, the difference between the kits for any of the 4BD1 and 4BD1T models is only the piston and rings, the liners, etc. are all identical part numbers.

I don't know the too many details of the differences or interchangeability of the pistons.

I have a dim recollection from a chart, that I no longer have a copy of, that skirt length has changed for one point of difference, alfin (or not) was one of the other points.

What I do know for certain is that Isuzu made the crown thicker, and some subtle changes to the lip of the combustion chamber, to overcome some cracking issues for the update made late in 1988. This applies to my 4BD1TRBG engine that uses the 587810-5551 kit.

The following 2 pics show changes to piston crown thickness and combustion chamber from "current" to "new" that occurred late 1988.

The following 3 pics are parts lists for the post 1988 Isuzu 4BD1TRBG as supplied to British Aerospace Australia, for some Land Rovers, known as Perenties (perentie is the largest, up to 2.5m (8'-2"), monitor lizard in Australian), built for the Australian Army (at that time British Aerospace owned Land Rover and Jaguar).

Note some parts, such as flywheel housing and starter, are unique to Land Rover, but most are common to post 1988, 4BD1T's used in Isuzu trucks.

4BD1T piston oil squirters: http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/showt...uiser-HJ47-ute&p=410058&viewfull=1#post410058

I had a look through my parts book to see if the later 4BD1's might have been upgraded with piston cooling jets. They do not.

If you happen to find that your late 4BD1 block is machined to accept piston cooling jets, the part numbers for jets used with the post 88, 4BD1T are:
Jet 8943196990
Check valve 1131610120 (attaches the jet to the block and opens under pressure)

I paid $97 cnd for the oil pressure releaf value in the last post from my local dealer. Was 3 days away. Anyone rebuilding there 4bd1t should replace it at that time.

It's changeable in the vehicle by you need to losen the injection pump to move it slightly out of the way.

I came across some very favourable comments regarding sourcing genuine parts for Japanese vehicles from Amayama Trading. Better prices than dealers and good delivery service.

Although the comments I read were from Toyota Landcruiser owners, Amayama supply parts for other Japanese vehicles, but I haven't checked for Isuzu parts.

Ok, Where can a person buy parts to rebuild their 4bd1t other than a dealer? I'm talking about gaskets, seals, bearings, oil pump, valves and other replaceable items! I am new at this Isuzu game and would like some options before I tear into mine!

Thanks !
