Ok, Where can a person buy parts to rebuild their 4bd1t other than a dealer? I'm talking about gaskets, seals, bearings, oil pump, valves and other replaceable items! I am new at this Isuzu game and would like some options before I tear into mine!

You can find parts many places including eBay. But most aftermarket parts aren't good. For example I haven't found any aftermarket pistons and liners which are graded for fit.

Price for all was $US143.03 each

AX/CX refers to piston grades to match installed liners. Measure liners 20mm down and 105mm down with 4 points each (8 total). Average these values.
Pistons are measured diameters below oil ring but above gudgeon pin hole at 90 deg to gudgeon pin hole.
Grade A is 102.02-102.04mm Liner ID
Grade A is 101.955-101.974mm Piston OD
Grade C is 102-04-102.06mm Liner ID
Grade C is 101.975-101.994mm Piston OD

Obviously if you're outside these measurements you have a problem!

Grade 1-4 is the bore size based on 0.01-0.019mm interference between liner and block. Two methods are described in different manuals.
First is using one measuring point is 115mm down from the deck. Measure 4 points (X, Y and 2 diagonals) and average.
Second is using 3 heights (20, 105 and 195mm down) and taking two measurements at each height.
Measurements are averaged in each case.

Oil pump part numbers from Bush65

Regarding the different oil pumps, according to my information:
All 4BD1T's for automotive use from late 1988 on (up to about 94, it did not change again for 89 on) have a gear type pump, part number 8943662410.
All 4BD1's & 4BD1T's for industrial use from 1980 on have a gear type pump, part number 5131001373.
4BD1's & 4BD1T's for automotive use from late 1985 to late 88 have a gerotor type pump part number 8941144911.

Also according to my information, the gear type pump used for all 4BD1T's for automotive use from late 1988 on provides 20% more displacement/flow than the gerotor type pump used from late 85 to late 88.

Because both the gear and gerotor type pumps are positive displacement types, neglecting internal bypass due to clearances (new or with wear), if the later gear type pump for automotive 4BD1T's has 20% more displacement, it should be 20% more across the entire rpm range.

Thank you for posting the part number. I bought a 16mx1.5 sensor and a 16mx1.0 die to rethread it for less than 30 bucks. If that does not work I will order the 160 dollar magnet with wires...

There isn’t a stock option for that. Almaras made some for awhile, but he is gone. I doubt there’s any out there for sale.
