Yes you can.
I have a 97 p7100 motor and used a tst torque plate with no problems.

The plates are the same 4b P7100 and 6b P7100 ,

Good thing the 6b guys sell them cheap so you have a lot to pick from .

grinding the plate ,most go to far and then you can't go back .

both ways work just fine.

as said avove if you have a P-7100 pump that a plate will help ya alot..............I ground a 100 for my sons 94 6bt

Is there something inside the pump that follows along that jagged edge???

The gov lever rides along the edge of the fuel plate.

OK im following now :) Seems a bit steep in price for an eccentially DIY job, but welcome to the world of diesels I suppose :beer:

fuel plate

how do you go about picking the right one. i would like more power but do i have to get a new turbo or any thing else first. i have a factory turbo and factory down pipe that goes into a 3.5 inch exhaust and the intercooler that came in the breadvan will this mod be wourth it. ebay has them for 35 dollars

fuel plate

and not changing anything else will it still work. ive read that the arm that rides the plate can get stuck if its missing.

I got that from a 12v high perf thread over on dtr, I have not done it my self, they made no mention of any problems and said they removed the #0 plate on the dyno and made a no plate run and they were within a few hp of each other.

The p pumps were awesome pumps, but I really get into the ve pumps.
