What are the pros and cons of the VE type pumps compared to the inline style?

VE pumps have less potential for power, are older, etc...

They will keep running if your lift pump fails which eventually kills the pump due to starvation of fuel.

They are easy to tune.

Check out 1st gen dodge cummins guys. They have a good time with them.

I have never dealt with an inline so I can't say how they are to tune but I know it's the way to go if you want huge power.
i thought an inline pump was more succeptable to fuel starvation failure... ??? i cant remember
no the inline pumps are oil lubed instead of lubed by the fuel(this is the reason for damage on starvation)ask anyone with a 24 dodge how important it is to have good fuel flow on the bosch rotary pumps(mainly the vp44).
