found this on Craigslist. I am told it came out of a 89 Ford F 350 dually diesel.to me it looks like a ZF 5 but it's listed as a six-speed. Google says only the c6 came in that truck

Call him up, tell him to give you all the numbers off that data tag, go from there

Just talked to him. Said its tag reads S5-42. He said the truck was wrecked years ago. Picking it up on Saturday.

Not a C6. The C6 is an auto trans. Looks like a ZF5 or ZF6. Good buy if the gears and synchros are in decent shape.

S5-42 is the ZF five speed.
