The early 89-91.5 had the 727 HD (37RH), it is a diesel specific 727 3spd, the case and some internals are different than any of the other 727 transmissions. The 91.5-93' had the 518 overdrive units. Dodge went to the lock-up torque converter automatic overdrive (47RH) in 94', the engine/transmission adapter and starter was changed at that time.
