I've located a ZF-5 off a 300-6 that I THINK will work on my motor, but I have a problem - the '85 Ford it's going in has a mechanical speedo, and the 1356 on the ZF-5 is new enough it doesn't have the port/gear for one. Will the Tcase out of my '85 bolt to the transmission, so I can use the parts I already have? Is there any advantage to using a newer Tcase? I like the idea of using the existing one, since I can use all the same drivelines and crossmember locations, then push the motor ahead (away from the firewall) a little.

I put an 88 ZF in my 83 Bronco and the 208 transfer case bolted up. Had to make a longer linkage between shifter and case.
