Oh yeah, I'm having a hard time getting the power steering pump to work properly. I've jacked the front end up twice and cranked it from side to side multiple times while it was running and it still only works some of the time. Any suggestions. It's been almost a week of driving it around here and there and the power steering fluid still bubbles over almost every time I shut it down and it's still foamy.

Looks good. I usually take pix for my own uses...just incase I need to remember something or to try and explain what I did etc. Good pix on your account. What are you going to do about the dash?

One quetion though. I thought that the OBS body style was for the 88 - ? 'new" body style chevys. "ours" were called 'sqare nose'. Humm.

Yeah... OBS chevys were 88-98 (not including the 88-91 V's ) ...had to google it again.

Here are a few things to look at.

1. Your mounts need cross bridging between the side plates.
2. The P/S ,raise up the tires and turn the wheels back in forth a few times. Then start it and soon as it starts shut it off ,do this 3 to 4 times. what you have is the fluid is moving so fast the air never has a chance leave the fluid hince the foamy fluid.

I stand corrected. 1991 "square nose"... I'll be sure to google it next time. I have a new dash pad that I'll put in with the stock gauges. my intention is to keep it looking as stock as possible aside from the seats. Scott, thanks for the tips. You think I should brace the mounts even though I used 3/8 plate? also, what do I need to do to make the dodge transfer case work with the 1991 electronic speedo guage?

Johnny boy, whats up brudda? She runs great. I'll drive her down there one of these days. Any chance you'll sell me the speedo sending unit out of that transfer case I sold you. I wasn't smart enough to keep it, or get me the part number off of it if you can read it. I really like the way this one came together, I think I'm going to have to keep this one for at least a month or two ;) I'd like to find a set of axles with 3:54's in them. With the dana 60 14 bolt combo the lowest i can go is 3:73's and they currently have 4:10's in them. Thats the only complaint. need a little more gears. We're going to try and paint it next week. chevy white should be the easiest to hide the dirt. you ready to put a 12v in one of your trucks yet?

HSkinner. there is only 100 RPM difference between 3.54 and 3.73 gears. That is not enough for me to change a complete rear end to gain just 100 Rpm less. If there is nothing wrong with the 14 bolt I would leave it in there and just change out the R&P.
Just my 2 cents

Anybody know the part number for the belt tensioner on a 93 12v? I've got a wicked bad squeal and I've determined it to be the tensioner. I pulled it apart and greased what I could but it's still squealing pretty bad. any suggestions?

I figured out today that I've been driving the truck around in 4 high for the last 2 weeks. It's a 1991 np205 transfer case with the stock dodge linkage and the only way I could get it into 2 high was by getting under the truck and manually pushing the one side of the linkage in. Did dodge make a full time 4wd transfer case in the 1991 trucks or is there something wrong with the transfer case / linkage?

NP205 transfer cases are terrible to shift if they are not frequently shifted. Dodge used two types of shifters, a straight and a gated version. The gated version showed up in late year 1991 and requires moving the shift handle laterally before moving it either forward or rearward. Most were never lubed unless the engine leaked oil on it. What I generally do is take a can of aerosol penetrating oil [usually Kano-Kroil] and spray the shifter and the linkage down and let it set for a day or two. Then clean the shifter input rods where they go into the case and respray. After it frees up you then need to keep the shifter oiled. Plain motor oil in a pump oiler works fine for this. Then on a monthly basis operate the shifter by putting it in 4WD and move the vehicle. This keeps the front ring gear oiled and lubes the front axle seals. Also note that the gears have a tendency to "load up" with tension so sometimes even with a free operating shifter you still have to occasionally back up to take some of the load off the gears to shift the transfer case. This is normal. Never hammer the shifter when changing positions.

Check the Classifieds section on here. If nothing there check your local Craigslist & free ads, then post a wanted ad here in the "Wanted" section.

The shift lever may be moving fine, but if you moved the transmission/transfer case rearwards (as I did on my swap), then the shift linkage needs to be lengthened as well in order to hit all the shift points of the transfer case correctly...

So, maybe I missed it, but did you move the tranny from it's orignal mounting point?

Very nice truck! How much lift and what kind of wheels are you running they look nice.
